You hold a driving licence, but you drive rarely, feel unsure, or only take the routes you know? In advanced training we work on exactly what you find difficult. No exam pressure, at your own pace and with feedback you can apply straight away.
Alongside advanced training I also offer handicap driver training in Bern as well as regular driving lessons in Bern.

I signed up with Stefan so that he could get me used to the larger dimensions of my new vehicle and to the driver assistance systems that were completely new to me, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist, over a few lessons. Calmly and patiently he took away my respect for the bigger dimensions on drives through narrow streets, and he let me try out the assistance systems until I felt confident enough to drive with them on my own.
Why advanced training costs more than a driving lesson
Advanced training takes more than a driving instructor's licence. For around twenty years I have been a certified instructor of the Fonds für Verkehrssicherheit (Swiss road safety fund) and a TCS instructor, working with company clients and private individuals on the road. That additional training goes into every session, which is why the price is above that of a regular driving lesson.

What has changed in the traffic rules, which signs are new, how the assistance systems in your car work, calmly from home. CHF 100, or CHF 75 if you add it directly after a driving session.
Good to know
- Qualification: Certified instructor of the Fonds für Verkehrssicherheit and TCS instructor, for around twenty years.
- Sessions: We always drive for 90 minutes.
- Theory on the road: We go through traffic rules where they come up, in a roundabout or on a motorway slip road. If you want more theory, book a theory block.
- Single session: Without a package a session of 90 minutes costs CHF 240.
- Credit: If you book a package within four weeks of your assessment drive, the CHF 240 is credited. Refresh6 then costs CHF 1050.
- Car: We drive in my driving school car, all risk insurance included.
- No admin fee: You already hold a driving licence, so none applies.
- Cancellations: Free of charge up to 48 hours before the session. In case of illness or an accident we find a solution.
- Validity: Sessions you have paid for do not expire and can be transferred to another person.
- Stopping early: If you stop, you get the remaining amount back. Sessions already used are charged at the single price of CHF 240. For the settlement we charge CHF 50 once.
- Payment: TWINT, invoice or card.

Who is advanced training for?
For anyone who already holds a driving licence and wants to feel safe on the road again. For example after a longer break, after moving to a bigger car, before the first winter, when moving up to a larger vehicle, to get to know assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and parking aids, or when motorways, parking or city traffic in Bern feel uncomfortable.
How many sessions do I need?
That depends on your goal. For a single theme three sessions are often enough. If you have not driven for a long time, six sessions usually work best. After the assessment drive we tell you honestly what your situation needs.
What is a theory block and do I need one?
A theory block lasts 45 minutes and covers changed traffic rules, new signs and the assistance systems in your car. It is not required, because we discuss rules on the road where they come up. It costs CHF 100, or CHF 75 if you add it directly after a driving session.
Do I drive my own car or yours?
We drive in my driving school car, all risk insurance included. So you do not have to think about your own car and can focus entirely on driving.
What does advanced training cost in total?
A single session of 90 minutes costs CHF 240. Focus3 costs CHF 690, Refresh6 CHF 1290 and Intensive9 CHF 1890. There is no admin fee, because you already hold a driving licence. A theory block costs CHF 100, or CHF 75 in combination with a driving session.
