ADHD and theory revision: short blocks, not marathons
Why long revision evenings fail
Attention drops sharply after about twenty minutes. The rest of the evening feels like work, delivers little and mostly leaves frustration behind.
The system
A fixed time. Always the same one, for example right after brushing your teeth in the morning. The trigger matters more than motivation.
Fifteen minutes with a timer. When it rings, you stop, even mid topic. That is exactly what keeps tomorrow appealing.
One topic a day. Right of way today, signs tomorrow, braking distances the day after.
Visible progress. A calendar with one cross per day. Not breaking the chain works better than any deadline.
Explain mistakes out loud. Say in one sentence why the correct answer is correct. Speaking anchors it better than clicking.
Two weeks before the exam
Simulations only, but still short: two runs a day, not eight on a Sunday.
And the practical side
Lessons help theory revision more than most people expect. Once you have driven a situation, you no longer have to memorise it.
